My Islands Philippines Terms of Service


  1. Only one account per user is permitted.
  2. You must be the photographer and copyright holder of all material posted in My Islands Philippines.
  3. You retain copyright and the ability to delete/edit your photos (please send request to admin if you must delete your posted photograph).
  4. You grant My Islands Philippines the right to use your images for display anywhere in the My Islands Philippines site, as a Photo of the Day at filipinolinks.com and in other sites affiliated to My Islands Philippines such as tribo.org, filipinolinks.com, uncommonphotographers.net, carinderia.net, etc. The photograph will be fully attributed to you.
  5. My Islands Philippines is not responsible for unauthorized usage of your images outside My Islands Philippines.
  6. You may digitally manipulate your photographs in any manner you wish but only photographs related to the Philippines or Filipinos are permitted to be uploaded.
  7. You are allowed to upload a photograph up to 200K with 800 pixels at its widest or longest dimension.
  8. Photo description by the photographer is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. If possible, include photographic techniques (ie equipment used, aperture, speed, etc.) and post processing work.
  9. Nudity is not permitted unless related to an event, festival etc. Pornography and explicit sexually oriented material is not permitted and will be removed immediately and without notice.
  10. Posting of photographs of family, pets, friends and scenes with people posing is NOT ACCEPTED and will be removed immediately.
  11. Texts on the photographs (copyrights, dates, etc.) are highly discouraged. Other graphic design elements are not accepted (ie photographs as part of an advertisement).
  12. No overt advertisements please.
  13. No literal representation of an artwork (ie painting, sculpture, computer graphics etc.) unless the artwork is part of the composition. Literal representation means that the viewer looks at the painting (or other artwork) and is compelled the viewer to critique the art work rather than the quality of the photograph.
  14. Comments/critiques are highly encouraged. No insults or profanity please. Ratings should be applied fairly.
  15. As an option, members can post edited version of a particular photograph (own or another member's) as a workshop to show how to improve that specific photo.
  16. My Islands Philippines reserves the right to terminate without notice your membership at any time, for any reason, including your violation of any of these Terms of Service.
  17. This Terms of Service document may be changed without notice.
  18. YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT My Islands Philippines WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE My Islands Philippines SITE, EVEN IF YOU HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
  19. Please retain copies of your photographs. While back-ups are periodically done, as MIP is a hobby site, I have not much time to attend to this site and accede to everyone's request including looking for copies of old photographs or retrieving photographs in case of server crashes. So PLEASE back-up your photos. Please be guided accordingly.
